I used to be a know-it-all. I think half of the time It was to my own disadvantage because I liked to argue too much and always wanted people to take my advice. I learned my lesson though when I went white water river rafting. When my friends invited me I just had to be the “smartest” and offer my suggestions for wardrobe, and I was pretty stern about it remember calling my friends out because they wouldn’t listen to what I was saying. Lisa, who was there handed me a small post it and whispered “here so you don’t look like a complete idiot next week”. I looked it over and it said The internet. I pretended and told her that I didn’t need it but as soon as I got home I went online and used the site to check for white water rafting equipment. Was I happy to have followed her advise! I learned two lessons that week, keep my mouth shut when no one was asking for my advice and take advice from people who care about you; it might just end up better than your thoughts.
