Safety on the Job
I accepted a new job last month and I just love it! There is so much for me to learn and I know that I am capable of doing so. I have one area of concern which is that I am not very technology minded. I am afraid of anything that does more than beep at me. Because I work in very rural areas and travel most days, I have been given a mobile phone to carry with me. I think that it’s a really good idea but I am nervous every time it goes off. Also, it doesn’t always pick up a signal because I am out so far out in the countryside, it just indicates that there is no signal. My boss researched the best phone to get based on geographic specifics noted in a variety of phone reviews. I can’t change the fact that its range is limited. I can and do appreciate that it works most of the time and I have needed to use it on a few, very critical occasions. It was and is a real life saver (ok, maybe that’s an exaggeration but you know what I mean) and I am glad that my employer recognises the value of providing me with one.
