For your first fencing class you will need some equipment. The first thing you will need is mask. You should find one that has good padding. The second thing you will need is a jacket. This also will need to be well padded. The next think you will need is knickers. Be sure and get ones that allow stretch for lunging. Next you will need knee socks. The socks should come up all the way to the cuff of your knickers to make sure your whole leg is covered. The next thing you will need is fencing shoes. Make sure they are comfortable. The second to last thing you will need is a glove. The last thing you need is a foil with a few spare blades. There are some clubs that will lend out fencing equipment if you do not want to purchase it. Fencing gear can be anywhere from $110 to $200. You may be able to find good deals on equipment on ebay.com. Other than the items listed above all you need to learn to fence is a good attitude and patience.
