The Phone Books Became Common Recycled Material
There was a time when recycling wasn’t a much needed trend. We would just throw all of our used products, regardless of the materials, into the trashcan without thinking a thing about it. Thankfully, some began to recognize the importance and possibility of reusing some of these items. Soft drink bottling companies would offer a small refund to turn the bottles in instead of tossing them out. Then, it became popular to recycle newspapers. Next, the phone books became a popular reusable item. Schools and businesses would even throw drives to encourage people to keep the items for recycling as opposed to disposing of them in the traditional manner.
