Relevant Questions

Why is it that on medical malpractice interrogatories they can ask somewhat irrelevant questions? For instance why is it important that the jurors hear where I received my doctor’s license from? Why would anyone in a court of law need to know how long it took me to graduate or what my grades were like when I was in school? To me this extra information can just be excess and make me look like a different person. Why can’t we just stick to only the points of the case as that is what I am being taken to court for in the first place.
