He Defaulted on the Loan
My husband is the oldest brother in his family and took over much of the parental responsibility when his father passed away. When his youngest brother graduated from high school, he wanted to get a truck to use in his new job. We insisted he get a free tri merge credit score report in running the paper work. We were extremely glad we had him do that as several issues came to our attention that we were unaware of before. After reviewing the paper work, we decided against cosigning his car loan. About a year later, he ended defaulting on that loan and it turned out to be the right decision for us and our finances.
