If you’ll be spending time in the Adirondack Park during your visit to New York, take the opportunity to learn about its natural history at the Wild Center. The Wild Center is a fascinating museum located in Tupper Lake, NY, right near the geographical center of the 6-million acre Adirondack Park.
There are a variety of exhibits to see at the Wild Center related to the natural history of this unique region. Two halls and a spacious main building house a large number of exhibits plus the Museum’s Flammer Panoramas Theater.
There are also outdoor trails you can hike or snowshoe year round and outdoor exhibits to see. Guided excursions on the Wild Center’s trails are available daily, or you can explore them on your own.
Many of the exhibits at the Wild Center include live animals such as owls, otters, trout and other creatures native to the Adirondacks. There are hands-on exhibits, films, and a special multi-media presentation at the Find Out Forest.
