Although essentially a very simple craft a quilling beginner may be a little weary when first confronted with the tools and equipment needed to complete a quilling project. Happily, quilling isn’t a complicated craft and most people should be able to master the basic techniques fairly quickly. Unlike some of the more involved crafts there isn’t really a specialist skill set required by the quiller though the ability to follow a pattern will be useful. Apart from the fundamental materials such as quilling strips the list of items needed to begin the hobby of quilling is a very short one. Of course the paper is the most essential material and it will be cut in various lengths depending on the pattern being followed. Although it was stated earlier that the newcomer to the hobby doesn’t need much in the way of equipment it is very desirable that the new quiller should purchase a slotted quilling tool.. The tool is very versatile and invaluable when creating new projects.
