My tribal tattoos remind me of my heritage.
I am the child of an Italian mother and a Native American father. Everyone knows that I am Italian, but not many people know that I am Native American. It is not something I am ashamed of, but it is something that I grew up thinking I should not disclose to too many people. My tribal tattoos remind me of my heritage. They represent the fact that I am proud of who I am. I get many compliments on my tribal tattoos, but I don’t know how people would respond to the news that the tattoos have deeper meanings. A lot of people get tribal tattoos, but not all of them are Native American. People think my tattoo is merely artwork, but to me, it means so much more.
